Job Description 

We are hiring a Commercial Production Manager (CPM) to manage our commercial projects in Northern Virginia and some Maryland and adjoining areas.  The perfect candidate is highly experienced and knowledgeable in our industry and is able to solve simple to complex commercial painting and service problems.  The perfect candidate has an engaging personality,  brings a strong work ethic, and can lead others to accomplish the mission.  The successful CPM will accurately and completely understand detailed contracts, proposals and occasionally blueprints.  The successful CPM will represent our interests during project execution including scope of work, quality standards, safety, scheduling, project management, and budget.  The successful CPM is an expert problem solver who will ensure project safety while maximizing our efficient and effective project execution.

Primary Duties.

  • Manage Production.  Oversee commercial jobs in the field to Optimize painter performance.  Effective and Efficient productivity is vital on all of our projects.  Provide exceptional support to our Job Site Supervisors so they optimize their production including scope of work, quality standards, safety, scheduling, project management, and budget. 
  • Manage Safety.  Ensure commercial jobs have ZERO Safety Incidents
  • Inspect and Uphold Standards.  Inspect all commercial jobs regularly (some daily) to ensure we are meeting safety requirements; following Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines around Lead Safety; and are delivering on our contracted quality standards. 
  • Hire, Train, and Retain Painters and Craftsman.  Ensure we have sufficient talented "A-Team" Commercial Crews and Supervisors needed to hit production goals on schedule.  Oversee recruiting, development, and retention and properly onboard our supervisors to set them up for production success and to help our business become the employer of choice in the painting workforce.
  • Plan Production.  Ensure we have efficient and effective job planning and support materials and equipment.
  • Deliver Customer Satisfaction.  Deliver 10-Star Customer Service to promote repeat customers.
  • Preserve Profit.  Ensure each job yields the proper profit needed to hit each job's gross margin and revenue goals.
  • Provide Situational Awareness.  Manage records and information and ensure relevant staff have accurate and timely awareness of job status.  
  • Solve Problems.  Be a mathematically-based problem solver and be able to effectively communicate your solutions to the team, fellow staff, and customer, as appropriate.
  • Support the Production Team.  Provide necessary assistance to the operations team and jobsite supervisors.
  • Support Commercial Sales Team.  Develop a close working relationship with our Commercial Sales Associates and our Operations Manager to ensure all expectations set forth with the customers are met and best executed. 
  • Effectively Communicate.  Provide strong internal and external communication and coordination.  
  • Be Professional.  Perform all tasks in a professional manner and maintain a professional work environment.

Qualifications and Skills 

  • 2-year college degree required (preferably in related field)
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation and valid insurance.  Position will travel to and from job sites and as needed.  Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record 
  • Expert in multiple coatings, finishes and paint applications. 
  • Certified/qualified in use of multiple lift types, sprayers and specialty preparation and application tools/equipment. 
  • Exceptional communication skills with a friendly, positive demeanor 
  • Strong written/verbal skills, to include proof-reading and basic math skills for estimating 
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic 
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Proven record of ability to set, meet and exceed goals 
  • Must speak, read, and write English - Spanish speaking skills helpful but not necessary 
  • Previous experience in the paint industry preferred but not required 
  • Meticulous, clean, detail-oriented and taking pride in your work. 
  • Results driven 
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday with some Saturdays and some nights depending on the project. 
Benefits/Compensation: 
Competitive pay and benefits 
 
Compensation: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
